Making friends - something I've been good at throughout my life, however, only with the opposite sex. Why is that? Because girls can be a lot scarier than guys. But why? Girls are simply mean, cruel, only care about themselves, and they will stop at nothing to make sure they will get what they want. Who decided to generalize all girls into one harsh sentence? We have grown up with these lies thrust at us from movies, books, other people, and our own thoughts. Girls are awful, but we as individuals are not.
This is a lie.
In my second year of college I have finally realized something, not all girls are out to get you.
Not all girls are mean.
Not all girls are fake.
All girls have feelings.
All girls have felt left out, abandoned and hurt by another.
And girls have been blaming this on the gender as a whole.
Girls are bad ass. We can feel things that men can't, we can do things that men cannot. We also cannot do things that men do, we are different and beautiful and we need to embrace the fact that we can be beautiful together. There is nothing like sitting around watching chick flicks on the couch talking about nonsense and taking late night drink runs and all making a consensus on what to wear on your date that night.
So how do you make a friend in ten days?
You love them, you realize that they are not perfect, you realize that sometimes you could be in the wrong, that you are not perfect, and that hoes before bros should be taken as seriously as murder.
Girls need to stick together. It's hard enough out there without all the judgments. I'm proud to be a girl and I'm proud to finally have found myself a group of girlfriends that I do not have to be insecure around.
Girl power.
Happy bey day.
